Apple rejects the new name for the Twitter application for a reason that Musk may not have thought of

Apple rejected the new name, (X) X, for the application of the social networking platform Twitter for the operating system (iOS) iOS, which may pose a dilemma for (Elon Musk), who is striving to spread the new brand of the platform.

On Monday, Musk and CEO of Twitter (Linda Iaccarino) announced the abandonment of the familiar blue bird logo that has accompanied the company since its founding in 2006 and the replacement of the letter (X) in its place, whether as a logo or as a domain name: x.com, as part of the endeavor to make Twitter A comprehensive platform, similar to the Chinese WeChat service.

Earlier this year, Musk changed Twitter's business name to X Corp, or X for short.

Although Musk was able to easily change the name of Twitter to (X) in the Google Play Store, the rules of the App Store prevent this.

This week, both the (Google Play) and (App Store) pushed updated versions of the Twitter app for Android and iOS users, respectively.

The latest version of the application bears the (X) logo, and in some cases the new name of Twitter, as in the Android system.

And data scientist (Nick Sharif) indicated in a post on (X) / Twitter that “the situation in the (iOS) system is different; Because Apple does not allow any application to be a one-letter name.

Another user said: "Twitter managed to change the logo of its (iOS) application, but not the name, because Apple requires that the names of applications not be less than two letters."

Although application names in the App Store may be up to 30 characters long, they must not be less than two characters long, otherwise Apple will reject the application name.

It is noteworthy that changing the name of Twitter to (X) also made Microsoft's Edge web browser display security warnings.

Internet content filters in some regions, such as Indonesia, have also started blocking the x.com website, believing that it displays sexual content.
